• Secant piled walls are embedded retaining wall structures mainly utilised to allow deep excavation in water charged ground conditions.

  • Secant Piles wall are considered watertight system depending on the excavation depth , ground water level and soil strata.

  • Secant pile system is also suitable for retaining fine sands and very soft wet ground and may be used for cut-off walls such as cofferdams.

  • Secant piles includes two types of piles. Primary/Soft piles and Secondary/Hard reinforced piles.

  • Formed by constructing intersecting reinforced concrete bored piles with overlap in between to soft/concrete bored piles.

  • Construction of system to start with primary pile which only concrete without any steel reinforcement. In between primary piles, Secondary/Hard piles to be constructed with cutting overlap to act as watertight system

  • The purpose of the secant piled wall is to ensure that the ground or composition behind the wall is securely and safely held in place despite its lateral and downward pressure against the retaining structure.
